Considering that my whole spring/summer wardrobe consists of tee shirts, I decided to create a series on this blog all about my favorite tee shirts, and how I style them. This tee shirt is navy blue with a freaking unicorn on the pocket. I mean, come on. When I saw this shirt in Kohl's, I couldn't help myself, so I put it right into my cart and bought it

I paired my unicorn shirt with some basic blue jeans, a light wash chambray shirt, and these fun slip-ons. I wore this outfit to school, and it was perfect because it kept me warm in the morning, and I was able to take off my chambray shirt in the afternoon when it warmed up.

I recently had a little get-together for my birthday, and afterwards, I had to send a few thank-you cards to all the attendees. After seeing that I had no thank-you cards, I decided to make my own. 

First of all, I would like to apologize for missing blog posts these past few weeks; school has been very busy and I have just been slacking off.  

Next, I wanted to get this off of my chest.

Many people claim that, "Chivalry is dead." Now, this often comes from women who complain about how men don't treat them like they are a princess, and don't open doors for them, etc. Similarly, many women believe that there should be equality for women, and that there shouldn't be double-standards for women. Now, while I completely agree with the latter, I think that if women want men to do all of these nice things for them and be courteous, that we have to do the same. 

Girls, when was the last time that you opened the door open for someone??? Remember the saying that all of your preschool teachers would tell you? Treat others the way you want to be treated. Don't expect someone to open doors for you all the time if you never do the same. If you want someone to do these things for you, do the same for them, so that it's a double-sided relationship of courtesy. 

I am just so exhausted or hearing girls complaining about how "Chivalry is dead", while also complaining that there shouldn't be double-standards for women. If you don't want for there to be double-standards for women, and think that men and women should be equal, then don't expect men to do things that you believe that you are exempt from. By saying that men should be chivalrous towards women, but that women don't have to return the favor, you yourself are creating a double standard. If you want men to be chivalrous towards you, then I have one piece of advice:

Lead by example. 

For example, a few weeks ago, I opened up the door for a boy walking into a classroom. Now, this wasn't for any reason besides the fact that I just wanted to be nice. But let me tell you, the next time I walked into the classroom at the same time as this boy, he held open the door for me. 

Wow. Chivalry. Would you look at that.
