Current Favorite Nail Polishes
Tuesday, December 01, 2015
I have been painting my nails consistently for about 3-4 years, so I feel like it is only right to talk about nail polish on this blog. Having your nails painted instantly makes you seem like you have your life together, and I'm all about that life, so here are my 2 favorite top coats and my 4 favorite nail colors. And if you can not tell already, I love pastel nail polish. I mean how can you not? It makes you look tanner, it doesn't stain your hands every time you try to remove it, just so many advantages.
1. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat: Now I have two top coats that I love, but this one is my favorite because it makes my nails super shiny and extends the wear time of any of my polishes. The only drawback is that you have to wait until your nail polish is completely dry before applying it, because if not, the top coat will start picking up the color on your nail and can potentially mess up your manicure.
2. Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat: I used this top coat before I discovered the Miracle Gel one, and while I prefer the Miracle Gel to this one, I still use it because it is good for if you are are too impatient to wait for your nails to dry. This formula is more watery, which allows for it to dry much faster, but the wear time is not as good as the Miracle Gel Top Coat.
3. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in All Chalked Up: This polish goes along with the Miracle Gel Top Coat, and is in a lovely warm-toned lavender color. Similar to the top coat, this polish takes a little while longer to dry, but the long wear time makes it work it.
4. Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Enamel in Jaded: This nail polish is a true mint green that isn't too blue or too light. It dies super fast, and has a pretty good lasting time considering that it is a fast-dry formula.
5. Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color in Silver Sweep: This polish comes in use when I'm in a rush because it is extremely opaque and dries quickly. The silver color also makes this polish semi-neutral, so it goes with any ensemble. Since the polish is fast-drying, it chips easier, so I use this only when I am in a pinch.
Essie Nail Polish in Lilacism: Now I know what you're thinking: "Emily didn't you already show a lavender nail polish?" And the answer is yes, but this one is different because it is more cool-toned than the Sally Hansen polish (or at least I tell myself that to make myself feel better). But anyway, Essie just makes really reliable nail polishes, and I love this color. And, here's a fun twist: after like a week of wear, the color starts gradually turns into a cool blue. So it's like having two nail polishes in one! Amazing!
Well there is the line up of all the things that I like to put on my fingernails.
Thanks for reading!
Emily
